LCR Music Board pays tribute to Janice Long

Liverpool City Region Music Board would like to pay tribute to Janice Long.

Our thoughts are with the family of Janice Long who sadly passed away on Christmas Day after a short illness.

Liverpool born Janice had a long, amazing career in broadcasting and throughout it she retained an infectious enthusiasm for supporting new music. The esteem she was held in by so many musicians can be seen in the tributes that have poured in since her death, from a wide range of artists. Liverpool musicians had a special place in Janice’s heart and she always went out of her way to champion artists from the city.

Janice was a skilled, broadcasting pioneer but she was also a lovely human being who was always a huge amount of fun whenever you were lucky enough to spend time with her.
Janice was loved by anyone who knew her and will be much missed.
